The Wedding Proposal ( Daisy's Version )

Normal proposals meant that the love of your life would go down on one knee, extend that long-stemmed red rose and the engagement ring as the “Will you marry me?” question is dropped.

I am so happy to say that the manner by which my John popped the question was never part of the norm. The way he proposed was far more. He made it more charming so to speak. A “Love Story” to be told over and over again from one generation to the next.

My John proposed upon his arrival from Japan to Manila. Much as the “Pamamanhikan” already took place last December 2008, my dear JC never took me for granted. He made sure that he actually asked me the BIG QUESTION and didn’t presume altogether that my answer would immediately be yes.

That evening, he surprised me by laying down 4 boxes with roses in it on the table. Pink roses in blue holders...blue rose in pink holder. Three pink (my favorite color) roses for the words "WILL YOU MARRY"...and one blue (John’s favorite color) rose for the word "ME?" One tall carton holder for every word of the proposal put together will form the phrase "Will you marry me?"

Attached to the 4 sides of every rose holder are message tags containing the "meanings" of each word? The word "WILL", for instance, had a message tag that read "Wonderful Invitation to a Lasting Love (WILL)." Even our “engagement rings” were far from being ordinary. When put side-by-side, our respective rings form a HEART that symbolizes the love we have for each other.

Finally, one thing that touched me most was the amount of time and effort he exerted to ensure that the LOVE and CARE that went into the arrangement will touch my heart. Thus, it made that momentous moment as one of my most treasured memories to keep. The manner and attention he gave made his love and respect for me shine through. :)
